Patina - Arms over Arms (2016)

Founded in 2006 in Portland, Oregon by songwriter Sam Hopkins and guitarist Bret Agins, PATINA has evolved over the years from a three piece acoustic group to its current full band sound. Since their first performance at an old church in an Eastern Oregon ghosttown, PATINA has since played many of Portland's finest venues, including LaurelThirst Public House, White Eagle Saloon, The Goodfoot, Mississippi Pizza, Lola's Room, Secret Society Ballroom and the Someday Lounge.

After taking a performance hiatus in 2013, the band has regrouped with new faces and new songs. Much of 2014 and 2015 were focused on songwriting and the first concerted recording effort since the release of their 2009 debut album, Sugar for the Salty Seas. The new album, Arms Over Arms, will be released in July 2016.

The latest PATINA lineup features Sam Hopkins (voice, guitars, harmonica), Bret Agins (guitars, voice), Josh Taylor (drums, voice, guitars), Jon Alexander (keys), John MacKay (bass), and Sarah Hopkins (voice).

Past PATINA members include Andrew Sottile (bass), Jeremy Bruno (lap steel, guitars), Darvey Santner (guitars, dobro, bass, voice), and Mateo Bevington (guitars, bass, dobro, mandolin, keys, voice).
