When I was searching for new music for my radio show, I came across Body and Soul by songstress Lori Williams expecting a ballad; and was blown away and pleasantly surprised by the heavy Afro/Latin Jazz foundation inside her music. I then watched her pivot into an Adult Urban-Jazz flow and instantly became a fan. To produce her projects since 2017 and subsequent collaborations has been a true honor and pleasure. Her latest effort, ‘A New Book’ showcases the continued music evolution and elevation of Ms. Williams’ trajectory upward. Her performances in studio and onstage with artists like Maysa, Najee, Nathan East, Tom Browne, Stanley Jordan, and Will Downing solidifies the peer fanhood of this DC-native vocalist.
