Lori Williams - Healing Within (2010)

Lori Anne Williams, called a "dynamic presence" (JazzTimes) and "the sought-after combination of soul and technical prowess that is reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald" (Muzikreviews.com), releases her long awaited solo debut, Healing Within, on the Pacific Coast Jazz label. From the earthy, luscious version of the Freddie Hubbard composition, "Little Sunflower" to a smoky, heartfelt version of the Bonnie Raitt classic, "I Can't Make You Love Me," Lori dazzles with her vocal beauty, precision and creative improvisations on each song.
Based in Washington, D.C., Williams divides her time between her own group and the lead vocalist for Saltman Knowles Group and Collaboration. Lori has often been compared to Dianne Reeves and has performed with many nationally known recording artists such as David Archuleta, Slide Hampton, Marion Meadows, Jerry Butler, and Maysa. She also has done extensive studio recording and commercial work nationally and in Japan.
