THE FLYING EAGLES THE EAGLES were organized July 24, 1965, under the leadership of Rev. James Sanders. Members of the group were: Rev. James Sanders, A.C. Williams, Royal Bridges, Leo Collins and Willie Garrett. They sang under the name of THE FIVE EAGLE SINGERS. Six months later they called me, (Robert Lee Hogan, Sr.), to be the manager after Rev. Sanders moved to Cleveland, Ohio. I managed for a while, then the group broke up. My three sons, ages 12, 8, and 6 had already started a group called THE LITTLE EAGLES, so my wife and I joined them and kept on singing, changing our names to THE FIVE EAGLE SINGERS. Everywhere we would go people would call us the FLYING EAGLES. One day a minister, Jessie Griffin, was at our home and said to me, "Brother Hogan, why don't you accept the name of THE FLYING EAGLES, and we did. Then when we would go to our church, missionary Rebie Adams, of the Church of God-in-Christ would say "here come Mom and Pop Eagle and the Little Eagles, a name which has stuck with us. We belong to the Church of God-in-Christ, 805 Union Street, where Elder D.Z. Butler is the pastor. We recorded our first record, I Know A Man, then later on Mr. Melvin Adams joined our group, then later went off to college. We wish to thank all of our friends who have prayed for us and helped us, and we hope this album will be a great blessing to all.
