In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Nikki Nack, originally released in May 2014, Tune-Yards announced Nikki Nack 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, set to be released digitally on 9th.
In addition, Tune-Yards have also unveiled a brand-new remix of the iconic indie anthem ‘Water Fountain’, ecstatically deconstructed by Brooklyn duo Water From Your Eyes. This danceable and utterly bonkers version reimagines the song as a dynamic, contemporary floor-filler, offering a thrilling new take that complements the original.
The Water From Your Eyes remix, entitled ‘Water From Your Fountain’, is one of four new tracks on the Nikki Nack 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition: the release also includes two original 2014 session singles, ‘Nobody/Anybody’ and ‘Rally’ as well as a new rendition of ‘Water Fountain’ from Tune-Yards themselves, entitled ‘Water Fountain (Your Eyes Remix)’.
Tune-Yards' third LP Nikki Nack introduced “fizzing electronics and rapid-fire wordplay” [NME] into Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner’s growing musical canon delivering a record brimming with adventurously maximalist soundscapes and forward-thinking, innovatively crafted lyricism unafraid to dig deep. 10 years later, the record continues to strike a chord with audiences, and with its Deluxe Edition, it is given a brand-new coat of paint.
