IJO - Short Form Junglev (2024)

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to share my new release with you, "Short Form Jungle." This is my 23rd full-length studio album—at least, I think so! This project represents a shift in my approach to making music, embracing modern, shorter track lengths. Instead of the extended 6-8 minute tracks that were popular in the 90s jungle scene, I’ve focused on creating tracks that are up to 4 minutes long.

"Short Form Jungle" is a collection of tracks I made between 2020 and 2024. I didn't set out to create a cohesive album, so you could say this is more of a compilation. The result is an eclectic mix, with each track offering something different. You’ll find both more accessible tunes and experimental ones—something I’ve always enjoyed doing. My process is all about following my instincts and making music the way I feel it should be made. These tracks aren’t built with DJs in mind; they’re made for pure listening enjoyment.

I hope you find something to love in this album. "Short Form Jungle" is available digitally, and for those who love physical formats, I’ve also released a limited edition cassette tape. Plus, there’s an exclusive 12" lathe cut featuring six tracks, which feels like a heavyweight vinyl pressing, cut at darkroom.lt.
