Reknown for their ability to straddle both heartfelt soundscapes with bombastic, riff-driven rock, Southend four-piece Nothing But Thieves present their fourth album Dead Club City - now expanded with five additional tracks. Opening with the driving synth stabs of 'Welcome to the DCC', one would be forgiven for thinking this was an all-guns-blazing collaboration with The Weeknd.

For those unfamiliar with the original release, the full-length was undeniably a success. It charted as the #1 album in the UK and even on Australian shores, the single ‘Welcome To The DCC’ appeared in the famed Triple J Hottest 100 of 2023. ‘Is Everybody Going Crazy?’ – well for these five British blokes, that is what their alt-pop-rock formula has instigated on a global scale.

Opener and single ‘Welcome To The DCC’ is that Armageddon disco-rock revelation that is an eerily flawless soundtrack to specific perspectives of the current world we live in. A fusion of noughties’ Justin Timberlake with some of Prince’s funk brilliance and 80s synthpop discotheque; the entire amalgamation feels like it belongs on the Ghostbusters II soundtrack, in the best way possible. If we are facing the end of the world and the decision is to go out with a bang, Nothing But Thieves have created the anthem for the annihilation.
