English Independent artist, based in London, originally from South West England. Forthcoming debut album ‘Different Flowers’ (out June 2024) emerged from loss, but then adventure and self-discovery. After his band and long term relationship ended, a chance encounter lead him on an unexpected boat trip, spending 7 months travelling the canals and rivers of the English countryside he grew up in. From further travels in India, Nepal, and a USA road trip, songs began to grow. Recording demos in different locations, including a converted windmill and the boat where he now lives, he found his way to Fred Thomas, one of London’s most sought after producers, composers and multi-instrumentalists, with whom he recorded the album. But when the pandemic hindered plans to perform, release or promote it he sought alternative ways to move the project forwards. Also a visual artist, he decided to create a visual world around the album, including a bespoke collection of illustrations and the stop motion animation video for single ‘Tell Me Where To Go’, which has received global recognition at film festivals, and picked up a ‘Best Song’ award at the 2023 Cannes World Film Awards. With influences from 60s and 70s singer songwriters to contemporary alternative artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Laura Viers, Belle & Sebastian, Big Thief and Richard Hawley, ‘Different Flowers’ is a soulful alt-folk album about adventure, loss, self-discovery and chasing the things you love.
