In 2017 they released Slackipedia and 2019 Get Your Trousers On, You’re Nicked and this is the new one, and possibly the best yet, from the Southampton-based New Wave/Britpop Wit Pop band The Slack 5. Imagine The Jam with a sense of humour ventures Ged Babey.

The Slack 5 are Stuart Powell, Flavio de Oliveira and Simon Nightingale, and they're bringing own their own brand of funk and jangle to wherever they're allowed to play.

Too old to die young, getting stuck in traffic and being put on hold, they're here for their own amusement.

Despite the Wedding Present/Britpop or whatever lazy comparisons people throw at them, they know that songs they have written are fuckin’ great. Smart, funny and catchy.

The Slack 5 are cool. Disco in Furlough is an album to be proud of. It sounds good on car journeys, on the stereo and some of the choruses and couplets will stick in your brain and you’ll wake up thinking ‘what is that song?’
