This collection from Saxon is the kind that spans a specific era and selects from the strongest material of that era, and also presents it all in an appropriate chronological order. Obviously, the older the performer, the more difficult it is to put this together; moreover, in such a way that it is not endlessly long, which you get tired of halfway through.

So putting together a really cool compilation album is really not an easy task, in fact. The editors of the "group" called Music Club mostly manage to do this. Saxon is also one of those persistent rock/metal bands who unwaveringly believed in the genre even when it was cheesy to listen to; they pushed hard even then, and if sometimes they managed to make albums of varying quality, most of them had audience favorite, catchy songs. At the beginning of the 2000s, this line was strengthened again, and they also recorded several excellent albums, not only rivaling the old ones, but perhaps even better than them.
