Wanda Sà - Brasileiras (2005)

A beautiful set of Brazilian vocals -- inflected with a bit of bossa inspiration, but coming off a lot more freely overall! Wanda Sa and Celia Vaz sing dual vocals on a haunting set of tracks that have a strangely spacey sound, thanks to the lilting loveliness of the ladies' voices. The overall effect is kind of like a prime late 70s/early 80s Joyce session -- and it's no surprise that Joyce guests on the record, along with Gal Costa, Nana Caymmi, and Quarteto Em Cy. Titles include "Amazon River", "Aqua de Beber", "Lugar Comum", "Uma Bencao", and "Molambo". Very nice!
