A lo largo de su carrera Miguel Poveda ha musicalizado textos de varios poetas, y en particular ha siempre manifestado su fascinación por la obra de Federico García Lorca – a quien, por ejemplo, ya había dedicado Enlorquecido (2018). Publicado en 2024, Poema del cante jondo es una adaptación del célebre poemario del mismo título. Un sentido retorno al flamenco más tradicional, luego de abordar otros géneros en sus últimas producciones, el álbum fue realizado por Poveda en colaboración con el eximio guitarrista Jesús Guerrero.
