Original Motion Picture Soundtrack featuring music by Grammy and Academy award winning composer: Gustavo Santaolalla

The Last of Us was created by Naughty Dog, the critically-acclaimed developers of the multi-million selling Uncharted video game franchise. The Last of Us is slated to be one of the highest selling video games of 2013 and already has close to 2 million pre-orders two months before release.

The game will immerse players in an incredibly realistic, lethal and savage world through its integration of intense characters that foster emotional resonance, a rich storyline and gorgeous audio and visuals.

The Last of Us takes place twenty years after a pandemic radically changes known civilization - Infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and anything they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a simple job soon transforms into a profound journey across the U.S. At its core, The Last of Us is about the bond that forms between Joel and Ellie – it is the story of love, loyalty, and redemption.

Gustavo Santaolalla, the composer for the game, is a multi-faced artist that is best known for his work writing movie scores and producing albums.

He is also the founder of the alt-tango band, Bajofondo. As a composer, he has won two Academy Awards® for Best Original Score for his work on Babel and Brokeback Mountain, for which he also won a Golden Globe® Award.

Santaolalla has won two Grammy® Awards as an album producer: Best Latin Pop Album for Juanes’ La Vida...Es Un Ratico and Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album for Cafe Tacuba’s Cuatro Caminos.

Most recently, Santaolalla composed the score for the Jack Kerouac movie, On The Road, and he is currently writing the score for the stage musical Pan’s Labyrinth. Sony Classical recently released Presente, the new album of his alt-tango band Bajofondo.
