Lost And Lonesome are thrilled to welcome Melbourne five-piece Baby Blue to the fold for the release of their debut album Of My Window, due out on April 12, 2024.

Initially taking shape a decade ago as a solo project for singer-songwriter Rhea Caldwell, Baby Blue soon evolved into a full band who have amassed a solid following through regular gigging and an ever-growing discography of single and EP releases.

The eight-song album Of My Window signifies a bold progression for the band in both production and songwriting, tapping themes of friendship, unrequited love, queer romance and the courage it takes to live an authentic life.

Treading a sinuous path through 60s guitars and dreamy psychedelia, first single 'It's a Match' delves into the murky realms of extramarital entanglements and dealing with the impossible feelings of falling for someone who is already in a happy relationship.

On the album's second single 'Human Race', Rhea Caldwell – generally fed up with being a human – laments their existence in a world that is inherently broken. “I wanna feel like there are no walls or colour schemes / I wanna feel like there is no evil but I know that is just a dream”.

Caldwell performs with an ease few can claim to possess. Having cut their teeth as the lead guitarist of Michael Beach and as bassist for Gena Rose Bruce, Caldwell’s songwriting taps into 60s surf rock with a sprinkling of Americana and a healthy serve of indie pop. The result is a charming and considered concoction that’s been likened to that of Kim Deal fronting the Velvet Underground.

Recorded and mixed by guitarist Jesse Williams (Girlatones, Darren Hanlon, Leah Senior), the album came together over several weekends at Jesse and Leah’s home in Anglesea. The album explores the ebbs and flows of striving for self-improvement, the joys and pitfalls of casual romance, and trying to stay positive in an increasingly challenging world.
