The Surf Raiders - On The Beach (2024)

1983 was a year of change for the Surf Raiders. Neal Kuzee left the group for other interests. Tom Moncrieff, formerly of the Malibooz, replaced him. 1984 was the year for the summer Olympic Games in LA. Loyd and I wrote some new tunes and were itching to get back in the studio. Tom was unable to make it to the recording sessions so I contacted Davie Allan who brought his friend Rick Korenthal to help. Without prior rehearsals, we knocked off 12 songs in 4-5 hours. It was like Davie had been playing with us all along. I also invited Brian Thompson, whom I had seen playing sax in another surf band, to attend the session. The album On the Beach was released prior to the summer of 1984. This is the first time this album has appeared on CD.
