Organ music by Johann Sebastian Bach for the church seasons VOL. IV – Easter. The fourth CD of the six recordings in the “With Bach through the Year” series presents organ music by J. S. Bach for the church season “Easter”. Each of the recordings is framed by one of Bach's great preludes and fugues, which has been selected to match the chorales of the relevant church season in terms of character and tonality. The idea for this CD series came about in 2007 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Flentrop organ in St. Marien. A total of six CDs are planned for the “With Bach through the Year” series. Each of the CD recordings is framed by one of Bach's great preludes and fugues, which has been selected to match the chorales of the relevant church season in terms of character and tonality. The chorales come from Johann Sebastian Bach's various large chorale collections: the “Orgelbüchlein”, the “Eighteen Leipzig Chorales”, the Kirnberger Collection and the “Schübler Chorales”. Individual organ chorales are also represented. In the middle of the program selection is one of the six sonatas for the organ, also known as trio sonatas.
