Jakob Park is a composer, pianist, vocalist and writer. He went on to study at The Royal Danish Academy of Music and is currently residing in Copenhagen. Although he is considered fully Danish by his peers, he has throughout his life felt a strong longing for his roots. The year 2013 marks Jakob Park’s reconnection with his homeland. He will be spending a large part of the year in South Korea with a desire to integrate the local music scene and make his music a vehicle for cultural exchange between his two home countries, Denmark and South Korea. Jakob Park’s music has been described as lyrical and elegant jazz, a delicate musical universe filled with groovy beats, sweet harmonies, tantalizing colors and a strong fairy tale sentiment.
The young Jakob Park started his carreer a protegé of the legendary Danish bassist Hugo Rasmussen. He later graduated from The Royal Danish Academy Of Music and has since toured extensively in Denmark and also in foreign countries such as Norway, Germany and Austria. Since 2008 his music has been receiving airplay on both national Danish commercial radio as well as non-commercial jazz radio and television. In Denmark, Jakob Park has shared his talent with many prominent local artists , including collaborations with people such as Aske Jacoby, Jakob Dinesen, Malene Mortensen, Emil de Waal, Dan Hemmer, a.o.
