During his 15-year period of commercial success from 1976 to 1991, from the breakthrough hit "Fooled Round and Fell in Love" with Alvin Bishop's band to the latest Starship chart entries, Mickey Thomas was the lead singer of a band whose high tenor inspired through rock and blues arrangements. Over the next 20 years, he led bands using the name Starship with old musician friends and occasionally participated in projects, most notably the 2010 blues album The Bluesmasters featuring Mickey Thomas. Marauder's solo album is another such attempt, this time presenting a collection of covers. This is a reasonable idea, considering that he has always been more of a singer than anyone else, and it allows him to pay tribute to his colleagues on the shop floor.
