Exteremely articulate, thrillingly cool-headed yet almost achingly lyrical without displaying a hint of sentimentalism... Nearly perfect!

Ancerl, Kubelik, Neumann and now Macal... What is it with these Czech conductors that make them so adept with Mahlerian discourse? The fact that Mahler himself was born in Bohemia? It can't be that simple, I guess...

Any chance you have the rest of his Mahler cycle with the Czech Philharmonic? He seems to have recorded every Mahler symphony except the Eighth. Thanks in advance...
