The dark electronic score utilizes industrial elements to provide a menacing and exhilarating backdrop to the riveting action film directed by Jamie Childs and starring Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Jenna Coleman. “Jackdaw is an unrelenting action thriller set throughout a single night against the backdrop of North East England, an area where breathtaking coastal landscapes meet the brutality of industry. Composer Damon Baxter, aka Deadly Avenger, first burst onto the dance music scene in the early noughties. Supported by Fatboy Slim, Propellerheads, and Jon Carter, Damon was heralded as the pioneer of the ‘Big Beat’ sound. Touring the world and setting dancefloors alight, he eventually settled nicely into a residency at FABRIC alongside UNKLE and The Wiseguys; this led to two of the genre’s biggest records, ‘Evil Knievel’ and ‘King Tito’s Gloves.’
