In “Pandora's Box” David Place addresses the theme of quarantine with a cynical and sometimes ironic look, told through a predominantly folk sound, contaminated by blues, pop, reggae and retro sounds. The creation of the album involved musicians from different parts of the world - remotely. Collaborators: Sebastiano Lillo, Umberto Calentini, Gabriele Cavallo, Teodoro Carriero, Maria Grigoryeva, Matt Giella and Carlo Petrosillo; recorded in the A.MA Records studios by Tullio Ciriello who also took care of mixing and mastering; musical editions by A.MA EDIZIONI; Trulletto Records as a record label. A production which took place with the support of the "Puglia Sounds Producers Programming 2020/2021" - "PUGLIA REGION FSC 2014/2020 Pact for Puglia - We invest in your future".
A.MA Edizioni is happy to announce the release of Pandora's Box - the new album by David Place. This is a co-production by both A.MA Records and Trulletto Records and is the product of lyrics and music created during the lockdown imposed during the covid-19 pandemic. The artist reflects on the quarantine itself, the fragility of the mind during crisis, isolation, fear and also courage and hope. Using cynical language rich in irony, he has given us 12 predominantly folk songs in genre with influences of blues, reggae and pop.
David Place (vocals, guitar, music and lyrics) is accompanied by Sebastiano Lillo (guitar), Umberto Calentini (double bass), Gabriele Cavallo (keyboard) and Teodoro Carreiro (drums). All tracks were mixed by Tullio Ciriello assisted by Sebastiano Lillo. Further contributions were made by Maria Grigoreya (violin), Matt Giella (trumpet), Donny Balice (trumpet) and Carletto Petrosillo (harmonica).
