This is the second French album by Nanako Sugiura, following her first album on my label, "Days of Vacation: From French Baroque to Sevrac and Tailleferre". This is the second album of "French music" by Nanako Sugiura, following the first album on my label, "Vacation Days: From French Baroque to Sevrac and Tailleferre. The concept is the same in that it focuses on the "breath of France" that has transcended the ages from the Baroque to the modern era, but this time the emphasis is on "narrative" in particular. The album is centered around Ibert's masterpiece "Narrative," which is the title of the album, and Grosvlaise's "Calendar of mental landscapes," which is the most secret of all secret compositions, with small pieces by L. Couperin, Debussy, and Messiaen. Only Kosaku Yamada's "Harumu" is a Japanese work, but it is very fantastic and charming, and I am sure that Debussy and Ibert would approve of it. The "Calendar of the Landscape of the Heart" was performed by Tatsuya Fujimoto of the Shonan Classical Music Lovers' Group at a recital by Sugiura at Studio Berceau in Kayakuzaki on November 27, 2022, which was organized by the group. This album is composed based on the program of this concert. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Tatsuya Fujimoto. (From the producer's postscript)
