The album includes ten original songs born of life in the vast, big-sky flatlands of Western Victoria, as well as takes on tunes by iconic songwriters Steve Earle & Guy Clark. This album has been a lifetime in the making, with songs ranging in age from one, to over twenty years old. But like fine wine, it is worth the wait.

TB Whiteside is a country boy through and through. He has lived in the Western part of Victoria for most of his life. But that is as close as this album gets to being 'Country & Western'. Like his forefathers that carved an existence out of the rough Mallee scrub, TB Whiteside has carved these songs out with a rough thought, an acoustic guitar, and a melody. His lyrics will have you grinning from ear to ear, and in the next moment, have you crying into your beer.

To transform these songs into an album, he called in his old bandmates, that also happened to be some of the finest amateur musicians in Australia. After discovering The Barn Recording Studio in Queensland, with their in-house locked-in-tight rhythm section, these bare, stripped-down acoustic songs were sent on the rides of their lives. With the musicians allowing the songs to forge their own path, regardless of genre, the resulting album is a musical gumbo. Acoustic & electric blues, cajun rock, folky fingerpickers, alt-country anthems, reggae shuffles....wherever the songs led, the musicians listened and followed. File this album under “Mallee Roots and Blues”.
