British folk noir. All The Bees are Kirsty McGee and Gitika Partington. Their music is gentle, spiritual, sensual and timeless. Their songs are firmly rooted in nature - grounded, yet fragile. Their voices come together in a flood of emotional beauty, which fills the heart and feeds the soul. Reflective, poignant, playful, ethereal, intimate...A shimmering, gossamer music. It's Spring 2020, the world has gone mad. Kirsty and Gitika meet online by chance during a lockdown Zoom course with a whole bunch of muted musicians, learning about sync possibilities in film and tv in the US. Noticing a fellow Brit in the chat, Gitika sends a message, to see if Kirsty is up for an online song writing collaboration. A few weeks later Gitika sends an instrumental backing track, Kirsty sings newly-penned lyrics, adds flute and sends it back to Gitika. Gitika does more layered vocals, production and mixing. The song becomes "Dog Star" - and they both know this is something very special. Kirsty sends this message to Gitika. "Well...my crazy independent 'doesn't play well with others' self has been sent into the corner in disgrace! That is absolutely wonderful & don't our voices blend well?! talk about 'stronger together'! Thank you for showing my idiot self that collaborative letting go can bring real beauty." All The Bees is born. A deep friendship begins..Over the next 3 years through major grief from close family deaths, illness, crashing lack of usual musical ventures - touring (Kirsty) and running choirs (Gitika) all closed down - the whole trauma of the pandemic, this magical process is repeated a further 8 times resulting in the band's first album. Kirsty and Gitika have only met three times in real life - most of that time was spent cooking and eating seriously healthy and beautiful plant-based food.
