Nneka - Back and Forth EP (2023) Hi-Res

It's crazy to think that it's now been fifteen years since Nneka was revealed to the world with her unifying album No Longer At Ease. Regardless, the German-Nigerian singer managed to easily establish herself in the musical landscape and became a reference in the field. So obviously each return is always an event even when it comes to his new EP entitled Back & Forth.

Through these five new titles, Nneka once again stands out by representing a quest for a new alignment and centering. It is by continuing to mix reggae, soul, hip-hop and afrobeat with such success that the German-Nigerian singer can tell several stories anchored in their time, of which the vibrant introductory title track lays the foundations. All that will be missing is the hypnotic “Salt Water” and “X-Ego” for Back & Forth to be an absolutely spiritual musical experience where Nneka’s melodic qualities remain intact until the vibrant finale called “Genius”.
