The popular jazz manga ``BLUE GIANT'', which has sold over 9 million copies since its serialization began in 2013, has finally been made into a movie by Shinichi Ishizuka (to be released nationwide on February 17, 2023).

``BLUE GIANT'' has been highly praised with numerous reviews calling it ``a manga where you can hear sounds.'' This time, pianist Hiromi Uehara is in charge of the music in the play. The original songs (Tr. 17, 26, 28 and the end credits song Tr. 29) by the trio "JASS" formed by the main character, Dai Miyamoto, were also newly written for this work.

Dai Miyamoto's saxophone player, who aims to become the world's best jazz player, will be played by Tomoaki Baba, who was unanimously selected in an audition for leading players from Japan and abroad. Shunji Tamada, who was Dai's high school classmate from Sendai, performed on the drums, and Shun Ishiwaka, who is also an active member of millennium parade, participated at the request of Hiromi Uehara. Hiromi Uehara is in charge of the performance of Yuki Sawabe, a pianist Dai meets in Tokyo.

The recording of the accompanying music also brought together top musicians from the classical to jazz worlds, including string members of ``Hiromi Uehara's Her Piano Quintet'' and Miho Hasama.
