7 Years Bad Luck - No Shame (2023) Hi-Res

The latest album from Austrian pop-punk veterans 7 Years Bad Luck. Third song (I will forget you), first line: “We ran for several years in a row // But I have one life, You said // and ran into the night.” It's a great line to sing over palm-muted guitar, and it turns out to be a melodic pop-punk rock hit and one of No Shame's few highlights. What makes 7 Years Bad Luck stand out is that they seamlessly switch between different styles of pop-punk, thanks in part to their two lead vocalists, while still being able to sound like a cohesive unit. Fans of Banner Pilot, Lawrence Arms should enjoy this record, but so will fans of pop punk and '90s punk rock.

I give credit to the band, who did all the recording, mixing and mastering on this album. Fun fact: the artwork on the album cover was created by the grandfather of two band members in 1968. Damn, this is one band to just love! The album No Shame is out now on Monster Zero Records.
