On this recording, the Choir of St. Paul's Cathedral, at the peak of its power, performs a passionate sequence of liturgical works that includes some of the most beloved choral works of all time:
"Hear My Prayer" by Mendelssohn ("Oh, the Wings of a dove"), an excerpt from Brahms' Ein deutsches. "Requiem" and "The Outcast" by Allegri. Both "mystics" of the twentieth century are represented - Jonathan Harvey and Sir John Tavener.
The album climaxes with Stanford's expansive writing on G and Benjamin Britten's gleefully reciting Te Deum.
