Australian composer Bruce Rowland’s music isnoted for its expansive orchestral melodies and use of solo piano as a primaryinstrument in the orchestra. Rowland is a self-taught musician who spent many yearsas a songwriter and creator of commercial jingles before the opportunity arose toscore films. His first film score, for 1982’s The Man From Snowy River, was a hugesuccess and Rowland quickly became one of his country’s most celebrated filmcomposers. The music on this collection comes from recently recorded tracks arrangedand conducted by the composer, who also played the piano solos.
