The 1983 film "Balboa" had an all star cast including Tony Curtis in the lead role. The film was originally a mini series made in 1982, but was shelved and re-edited into a 90 min made for cable film a year later. The score and songs were done by Dick Hieronymus. The score itself was perhaps Dick's best work in dramatic film music, very much in the style of an Elmer Bernstein or Jerry Goldsmith score. Sadly, 95% of the score was axed by the film and music editor who did this without taking it up with the producer/director. It was a real mess to put it lightly. Only most of the contemporary instrumental music and songs were used, leaving most of Dick's best work in dramatic film scoring never to see the light of day, till now. This release contains all music, songs and score intended for the film. The lost score can be heard in its entirety from cuts 6 through 27. The others are a nice blend of early 80's Rock, Adult Contemporary plus 2 end of era Disco and Funk cuts at the end.
