Richter's middle-aged list, which reigns as a masterpiece with an unparalleled scale, and Borodin's angry waves by Kondrashin, also on the PHILIPS label. World's first SA-CD!
The list is newly mastered in the home country from the original analog master tape

Recorded the year after Richter's Western debut, this striking list is still considered one of the best. Liszt's Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2 were included in the list of pieces played by Richter, who made his London debut in July 1961 (July 18), and from the next day onwards, he played for five days. was recorded by the PHILUPS label. It is interesting that Mr. Masuda describes the episode during this recording in detail in this commentary, but he said that he requested more sessions than usual. He recorded it very carefully many times, and it seems that the editing was a near-perfect performance in only one place. Also, this list is a rare recording that Richter liked, who did not like his own recordings, and the reason is largely due to Kondrashin, the conductor. In fact, Richter conducted only for a period of time when he could no longer play the piano, and conducted the premiere of Prokofiev's Symphonic Concerto in February 1952 (Rostropovich solo). At this time, it was Kondrashin who learned his command, and his trust lasted for the rest of his life. Liszt's performance here is powerful and has a transcendence that gives an emotional shock. It reigns as a masterpiece of the right wing. This time, the high-quality sound has made the details even clearer, so the once-in-a-lifetime performance, full of scale, stands out even more. With SA-CD, you can fully enjoy this masterpiece that is said to be the best.
