"Fushigi " is Nakamori's first self-produced work, and it is the ninth studio album in total that has been described as "Akina's biggest problem work". This album was released on August 11, 1986 in three formats: LP (L-12595), compact cassette (LKF-8095) and CD (32XL-155). The B-side of the 200,000 first pressed analog record is a single-sided picture record specification with the characters "mysterious" drawn in luminous paint (Side A is a picture label black board, usually The board is a picture label black board for both A and B sides). In the Hong Kong edition, the belt part is printed directly on the jacket, and the record itself is a clear record. The costume and make-up of the disc jacket was inspired by a doll named Digodon that Nakamori found in Hawaii. Nakamori has said that this album was inspired by the music of the movie "The Exorcist" (Mike Oldfield's album "Tubular Bells"). Recording took place at Sedic Audio Studio, Sound In Studio, Freedom Studio, Sound ATELIER and Cherry Island Studio. Single songs are not recorded.

According to director Katsumi Fujikura, when he was talking about making a concept album, Nakamori approached him with the concept of "wonder". It was early 1985 when I became interested in this project. After that, EUROX by Anri Sekine and others who later worked on the single "TATTOO", Minako Yoshida, SANDII & THE SUNSETS (SANDII, Makoto Kubota, Kenichi Inoue) and others were selected, and the recording work began in 1986. From New Year's to February, the track down took a period until the beginning of May.

After the first track down, Nakamori said, "The mixing is cool, but isn't it strange? "" said. After that, it was changed to an arrangement by EUROX, who was involved in co-production. A second trackdown was performed where the sounds and vocals came together. Regarding the mixing, director Fujikura revealed that the vocals were originally based on Nakamori's ideas. The concept of this work was that the voice is also a part of the instrument. Regarding EUROX, cooperation was obtained in terms of arrangement, and in the album credit of this work, it is written that "Thanks to EUROX, I was able to make this work." According to Motohiro Makaino of "Hotwax presents Kayokyoku Meikyoku Meikyokuban Guide 1980's", all songs were vocodered to integrate the sound and vocals, so that "only the reverb sound reaches the listener." made.”. Candidate songs for this album included the single "Fin" released on September 25 of the same year and the B-side song "Dangerous MON AMOUR". After the release of this work, it is said that there were endless inquiries from purchasers to the record company, saying, "I can't hear the vocals well. Is it a defective product?".

Prior to its release, on July 12, 1986, a nationwide concert tour LIGHT & SHADE was held to support this work. Also, from February 4, 1987, on the Fuji TV music program "Night Hit Studio DELUXE", which appeared monthly, "Back door night" and "Marionette" from this work were shown on TV in the first week of the month. At first, he refused to appear in these two songs because he said, "I can't express the image of this work on TV." It was broadcast in a form that was as close as possible to the image of the album. In order not to destroy this image, it seems that he was particular about the set, lighting, and how to capture the image. Later, in 2003, during her national concert tour AKINA NAKAMORI LIVE TOUR 2003-I hope so-, she performed "Burning Fire" and "Marionette" from this album.

In 1988, two years after the release of this work, five songs from this work, "Labyrinth", "Burning Fire", "Garasu no Kokoro", "Marionette", and "Teen-age blue" were sung again and new songs were released. Released a mini-album "Wonder" containing 6 songs including "Fushigi".
