Cobla De Cambra De Catalunya - Oltra: Harmonitzacions i instrumentacions per a cobla de danses tradicionals catalanes (2023)

The Cobla de Cambra de Catalunya was created in 1995 from the spontaneous initiative of about twenty musicians from different coblas from all over Catalonia, who met in order to record a CD with music not previously recorded or with very old recordings.

The project became a reality on April 10 and 11, 1995, with the collaboration of the Pau Casals Auditorium, in Sant Salvador (El Vendrell) and the Catalunya Música station, although the CD did not it would be published until 1998.

But before that, in 1997, La Cobla de Cambra recorded again, this time on behalf of the "Friends of Josep M. Bernat" entity. The Auditori del Vendrell then hosted more than fifty musicians from the most diverse backgrounds, to record the work "Quatre movimentos en forma de symphony", by the master Josep M. Bernat, a composition for two couplets and percussion about 45 minutes long.

Subsequently, and due to the availability and enthusiasm of the musicians, MÚSICS PER LA COBLA has continued to record with the Cobla de Cambra at the rate of one or two CDs a year. About twenty works in which a dozen conductors and more than a hundred instrumentalists have collaborated.

The Cobla de Cambra de Catalunya does not have a fixed staff and does not perform in public. This is an express wish of its creators since at no time does it intend to occupy the space of any other existing formation. Only in few exceptions has he appeared publicly, as in the case of the TV3 Marathons in 1997 and 1998, in the Gala of the National Culture Awards in 2001 or in the Centenary Memorial Concert of maestro Joaquim Serra of the year 2007.
