Outliers is a new compilation marking the 20th anniversary of Swimmer One's debut single, We Just Make Music For Ourselves.
In 2022, Hamish from Swimmer One began remastering all of the band's back catalogue - ten years of music, originally created between 2002 and 2012. This required us to re-record some of the vocals from the band's first single, the originals of which had been lost, so while we were at it we decided to make a few other improvements - new arrangements for We Just Make Music For Ourselves and Talk Me Down From 20,000ft and new vocals for Come On, Let's Go! and our 2012 song All The Things That Make You Want To Disappear.
Out of this process a new song, Twenty Years Too Soon, Twenty Years Too Late, also emerged. While it wasn’t written about the anniversary, it takes a typically bittersweet view of the passing of time, touching on regret, the ageing process, parenthood and new beginnings.
Hamish has also remixed and remastered our two albums, The Regional Variations (2007) and Dead Orchestras (2010) and you can stream or download those elsewhere on this site.
