How does a conductor actually work? He moves his hands, arms and his whole body, uses his eyes and facial expressions - and sings and speaks. The latter, of course, only in rehearsal. Being able to follow the interpretation of a conductor is an exciting process, with which the ideas behind the work emerge much more vividly. "Conductors at rehearsal" is a BR-KLASSIK series that takes a look inside the orchestra workshop. You can experience directly how the wishes, ideas and instructions of the conductor are implemented, how his explanations and temperament change the sound result and what thoughts lie behind the interpretation of the work. Thanks to this series, the special kind of collaboration between Mariss Jansons and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra can be documented.
