This stage production of Richard Strauss's Elektra was the farewell performance of Swedish soprano Laila Andersson-Palme at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. After the last chords had faded away, two carriages loaded with flowers were wheeled onto the stage. To this, the Sällskapet Operavännena and the audience in the hall sang the Swedish folk song "Blåsippan ut i backarna står" with the accompaniment of the Hovkapellet.
