Freaks & Motherfu*%!!@ is a bootleg album, released by Frank Zappa without enhancement. It is a live performance, recorded in 1970 at the Fillmore East according to the jacket, and features the Mark Volman-Howard Kaylan edition of the Mothers performing both Mothers oldies like "Call Any Vegetable" and some of the material familiar from the legitimate Fillmore East: June 1971 album. But that album, among others, provides better documentation of this period, and this album, which has only marginal sound quality, is for completists only. Completists should note however, that this is one place to hear "Holiday in Berlin" with lyrics, which detail the Mothers' experience with a left-wing riot in Germany in 1968.
