Claremont 56's own description of this, their third label compilation, is replete with phrases like "jazz-flecked Krautrock", "horizontal psychedelic dreampop" and "undeniably Balearic", which tells you as much about the grooves contained herein as my allotted 100 words ever could! Compiled by label boss Paul Murphy, the nine tracks featured range from the blue-eyed soul of Mike Salta & Mortale's 'Seashore Redemption' to Taichi Arakawa's ambient-leaning 'Ocean Surprise', and from the hazy, druggy psych of Neumayer Station's 'Unterfuhrung' to the fluttering flutes and shimmering Spanish guitar of Ferdi Schuster's 'The Fuzz Version', but it all adds up to a very pleasant hour of chilled listening.
