Praised by the critics for her debut recordings as a“ superb virtuoso with a prodigious technique“ (American Record Guide) and her performances being described as "an overwhelming experience" (Fanfare-USA) the Brazilian Débora Halász is among the leading South American pianists of her generation. Winner of the most important competitions in her native country, she gave her debut with the "São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra" at the age of fifteen. Four years later the Critics' Prize (APCA) named her as the best soloist of the year for her interpretation of Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto. Her wide discography includes works by Alberto Ginastera, Dimitri Schostakowich, Sofia Gubaidulina, Hans Werner Henze, Mario Castelnuovo‐Tedesco and Radamaés Gnattali.

The complete recording of Heitor Villa-Lobos' piano music was enthusiastically acclaimed by the international press as "the most successful account of Villa-Lobos on record" (Fanfare-USA) and by the AMERICAN RECORD GUIDE :"impossible to imagine a more powerful advocate for this music than Débora Halász. Her vivid pianism brings every note to life!"

Débora Halász is guest performer in many European and South American Festivals as Bath-England, Brandenburgischer Sommer-Geermany, Mikkeli-Finland, Menton-France, Campos do Jordão-Brazil,etc. and a partner by musicians as Patrick Gallois, Ingolf Turban , Rudens Turku, Lavard Skou Larsen, Sebastian Hess , Sophia Reuter and Wen Sinn Yang.

With her husband, Franz Halász, she built the “Duo Halasz”, guitar and piano/harpsichord praised by the critic as “magnificent”, “an exciting team” and “a fascinating and multifarious experience”.
