On Rarities, Bruce Cockburn is finally sharing sixteen rarely heard and newly mastered recordings with digital music consumers. These include two previously unreleased songs that are not included on the Rumours Of Glory limited-edition box set, and four remastered tracks that only appeared on tribute compilation albums dedicated to Gordon Lightfoot, Pete Seeger, Mississippi Sheiks and Mississippi John Hurt.

Rarities will be available on November 25, 2022, on all digital platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and Deezer. An advance single, the theme song from the 1983 Bill Mason directed National Film Board film Waterwalker launches the digital album release. Listen to Waterwalker Theme on the official True North Store here.

On Rarities are two songs not available on the previous box set: “Twilight On The Champlain Sea” featuring Ani DiFranco, originally intended to be on Life Short Call Now and used on the Japan-only release; and 1966’s “Bird Without Wings,” the oldest Cockburn demo from his personal vault, later recorded by Ottawa's 3's A Crowd and produced by The Mamas & the Papas’ Mama Cass.

I'd buy a CD of this, but not a download only, especially considering it's got only ONE song I don't have. I would also buy that separately, but I'm not paying for 16 songs and only getting ONE I don't have.
Again, Bruce's management is totally out of touch with his fanbase.
And what happened to the song "Music For A Lunar Eclipse", which was the b-side of the single "Burn"? There's a true rarity!

There's also the studio version of "Free To Be" which never got released digitally all this time. They don't even remember recording it! How about the tons of live material that was recorded in the 70's and 80's and 90's?? I'm certain people would buy some of that! Start with the complete Circles In The Stream shows and go from there. That concert wasn't only 80 minutes long! I'm sure there were plenty of songs from his latest release at the time- "In The Falling Dark", which didn't see live release with that album, as Bruce ALWAYS plays a generous helping of whatever album he's promoting at the time.
Get it together, True North! We're not getting any younger out here! We love Bruce, and you're dropping the ball with every compilation release.
Thanks,
"A loyal listener who's seen Bruce over 90 times in concert."
