Andrew Arthur teaches organ and composition at the College of Music at Trinity College, Cambridge. His conductor, Orpheus Britannics, is an ensemble that plays Baroque music using instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Baroque trumpet master Robert Farley participated in this album, playing an unknown trumpet piece written in the 17th century to convey the charm of the instrument. The Baroque Trumpet, with just a few holes in the natural trumpet, is difficult to pitch, but Farley performs the ultimate transcendental technique, playing every song easily. Currently, Farley has not only performed with major English orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Birmingham City Symphony Orchestra, and London Sinfonietta, but has also appeared in renowned Baroque orchestras such as Concerto Copenhagen and the Hanover Band. He is known for his brilliant performances of Bach and Handel masterpieces.
