Consummate bluesman Mark T Small is an electrifying performer, master interpreter and highly skilled musician with a keen knowledge of the Blues. Whaling City Sound is thrilled to present Mark's second release, "Screamin' & Cryin' the Blues," a CD which features 15 of the greatest Blues songs ever written, performed flawlessly by Mark on acoustic guitar. ItÕs his authenticity and his ability to bridge the past and present of blues that makes him and this disc so special. The first seven tracks are live - recorded at the Narrows Center for the Arts when Mark opened for Blues legend James Cotton. These include Chuck Berry's "Maybelline," and Williy Dixon's "Mellow Down Easy." The final eight, recorded by Mark in the studio include two Muddy Waters tunes; "Standing Round Crying" and "Baby Please Don't Go," "You Got to Move" by Mississippi Fred McDowell and "Hey Baby Hey" by Big Bill Broonzy, among others. If you're a fan of traditional acoustic Blues, this is worthy addition to your collection. Maybe it's best left to the words of Mark T Small himself, as he says "All of the songs were recorded in the spirit of the Blues; Lay it down and leave it alone." Well said!
