"Huggy" Dortmund pianist Jörg Bamba tours since 1984, and far beyond Germany's borders. Usually it occurs solo, but also in a duo with guitar, blues harp and saxophone, for some years also with own all-star band.

First Piano basics he learned as a child by his grandfather, then received a "normal" classical training, and discovered the Blues early as "his" music.

His Rock-Blues'n Boogie piano style has been to hear since in numerous pubs, clubs and at several matinees. To come are performances at festivals - from freak-Festival (E.g. five times on the bullshit Festival in OER-Erkenschwick, twice on the farm Festival in Marl) until the International Jazz-Festival (E.g. JazzFest Gronau) - as well as in radio and television (WDR). In an international context, especially repeated appearances in Paris, as well as the jams in the best blues clubs in New York and Chicago are to mention.

His program includes Blues classics like Elmore James' "Dust My Broom", Willie Dixons "hoochie coochie man" or Greg Allmans "whipping post" a not insignificant number of original compositions. This ranges from the extremely fast "new trumpet heat Boogie" on midtempo boogies as "here I go" with typical rolling Boogie Woogie Baß figure up to the soulful quiet "Nuthin' but the Blues" as well as by the Gospel "I believe" to rock and soul songs as well as faster swing numbers.

Critics praise the brilliant technique and dexterity in particular his blues feeling, "the spark over the ability" to make so that the performances of the "Dortmunder piano - master" (as visions 02/2000 - one of the largest German-language music magazines) were known in the press frequently as the highlight of the Festival. Blues'n Boogie fans come in "Huggy" J.B..'s concerts in any case "fully at their own expense".
