Caroline Melzer comes from Kronberg i.Ts. and studied singing with Rudolf Piernay (Mannheim) and song interpretation with Ulrich Eisenlohr (Mannheim) and Irwin Gage (Saarbrücken). Already during her studies, the soprano was engaged for major lyrical roles at various opera houses. For example, she sang Donna Elvira at the Staatstheater Cottbus, in Detmold and in Lübeck and for various main roles (including The Merry Widow and Madame Pompadour) she was engaged at the Theater Kaiserslautern. Her first permanent engagement has been at the Komische Oper Berlin since 2007. In 2008 she made her debut as the Merry Widow at the Volksoper in Vienna and has been a regular guest there ever since. Caroline Melzer's special love is for the song. Together with the pianist Anette Fischer-Lichdi she gave numerous recitals in Germany, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland.

Anette Fischer-Lichdi was born in Bad Rappenau. She studied piano and song composition at the music academies in Mannheim and Saarbrücken with Robert Benz, Ulrich Eisenlohr, Heike-Dorothee Allardt and Irwin Gage. She received important artistic impulses in master classes with Irwin Gage, Christoph Prégardien, Helmut Deutsch, Axel Bauni, Thérèse Dussaut and Semjon Skigin. At the international competition "Schubert and Modern Music" in Graz, she was awarded second prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of a Schubert song. She also won first prize at the university competition for Schubert songs in Mannheim, prize for the best piano accompaniment at the "Concorso di canto cameristico" in Gorizia and at the 12th Int. Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach.
