Matthew E. White - Only in America EP (2022) Hi-Res

Hampton Boyer's short film and Matthew E. White's EP 'Only In America' is about police brutality, white supremacy and systemic racism, co-produced by two Virginia-based artists. . This work was released worldwide today by Domino.

Boyer is a pioneering young black visual artist whose work has been exhibited extensively, including at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, and is known for his bright, clear layers of color and geometric forms with intricate textures and compositions. . In his directorial debut, his distinctive cinematographic style confronts America's legacy of race and violence past and present.

White's contribution to 'Only In America' is a musically ambitious and lyrically hard 18-minute suite divided into five movements. Written and produced by White, with lyrics and vocals by Lonnie Holley. Vocals are provided by Atlanta-based gospel choir arranger Joseph “JoJo” Clarke (The Voice, America’s Got Talent, Good Morning America). The reunion of White and Holly's two songs will be their latest collaboration since last year's noteworthy work 'Broken Mirror'. The two tracks are their first collaboration since last year's 'Broken Mirror: A Selfie Reflection'.
