All previously published recordings of the symphonies and other orchestral works by Franz Schubert with the Basel Chamber Orchestra under the Swiss oboist, composer and conductor Heinz Holliger received brilliant reviews.

Heinz Holliger conceived the last recording of his Schubert cycle 'as a Schubert life portrait that spanned sixteen years of composing. The closeness to death is present in all works. The Andante B flat minor, which Schubert drafted in the last days before his death, forms the beginning; The funeral march that Schubert wrote for his own funeral when he was sixteen and in the middle of his life, which lasted just under 32 years, marks the end.

Goose-bumpy !
Death and funeral !!

I was surprised at Mario Venzago but Holliger is more profound !
How many instruments I didn't notice so far appear from profound harmony !!

Track 1 is so-called Symphony N. 10 2nd movement, much better than Brian Newbould :)
I wish Roland Moser to complete No. 10 :p

Track 4 (Nonet) is also more impressive than Consortium Classicum !
Shocking !!

Track 6 is made up of 2 parts:
I (0'00") - II (0'58") - I (1'56") - III (2'26") - I (3'19");
IV (3'49") - V (5'08") - IV (6'03") - VI (6'43") - IV (8'06")
About original Piano version, Mitsuko Uchida is touching :)

Thanks a lot
