The great Persian poet and mystic Djalaleddine Rumi (1207-1273) left behind a body of work that includes more than 100,000 lines of verse. His poems have inspired Kiya Tabassian to several musical settings. The RUMI project took more concrete form when he was joined by singer Ghalia Benali, whose art touched him deeply with her ability to transform every moment into a state of wonder and every note into a fascinating story. The result is a recording that is both profound and spontaneous, with a selection of Persian and Arabic poems.
