The point of departure for the music of "!Duende Now!" is the cooperation with Spanish musicians: so to speak a "violin de jazz alemán" meets Spanish flamenco and jazz musicians. This is where the motivation originated to create an original fusion of flamenco and jazz, which is unmistakably characterized by the sound of string instruments. So, gradually the characteristic voice of the flamenco guitar combined with violin improvisations and partly Arabic, partly classical string sounds as well as with the percussive variety of Indian tablas, cajon and drums. This way Gerd Putscheff gradually created a new musical language on violin by integrating elements typical of flamenco in his improvisational style, which is basically influenced by jazz saxophone and guitar. Considered overall the diverse sound patterns on the CD which are unfolded through the variants of instrumentation between solo performance and orchestra present a plethora of particular colors. Thereby the fusion of the two genres appears in a new light again and again which leads the listener into worlds of music with a wide range of atmospheric moods. Besides this diversity they have in common the fusion of the rhythmic energy and the melodic-harmonic potential of flamenco with the multi-faceted efferfescent gestures of jazz. Finally a wide musical arc stretches from the Indian (Gitanos) and Arabic roots of flamenco towards the modern influences of jazz, rock and Cuban music: "Flamenco Fusion" / "Flamenco Jazz"
