Jörg Schippa's Unbedingt - Tanzpalast (2022)

Jörg Schippa's musical horizon is enormously broad. His playing structure combines extensive influences and listening habits of improvising musicians such as Miles Davis, Jim Hall, Ry Cooder, Jimi Hendrix or composers of Western Classical Music such as Béla Bartók, Igor Stravinsky, Olivier Messiaen, György Ligeti and Alfred Schnittke. Over the years, Jörg Schippa has worked his way deeper and deeper into the realm of contemporary jazz as well as avant-garde and serious music. "Perhaps the current state of my music could be described as that of enlightened contemporary music, in which purely sound-painting components can be found as well as odd-meter grooves, bizarre melodies and unusual harmonic structures," said Jörg Schippa a few months ago.
