The Zagreb Philharmonic under the direction of its conductor, maestro David Runtz, accompanied the year behind us with the traditional Philharmonic Ball held on December 30 in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.

As of this week, this concert is available on YouTube and all streaming platforms in the world.
"I am very happy that we were able to hold the Philharmonic Ball and play in front of an audience, because I remember that was not possible in 2020. We recorded a concert without an audience then, and in my experience, a concert with and without an audience is not the same." says Dawid Runtz.

The audience returned to Lisinski, and the excitement among the musicians was due to the re-sharing of emotions and live music.
"It was a wonderful evening, I am happy that we were able to give the audience music full of joy. The good atmosphere was not only at the concert, but also at our rehearsals. Preparations for the Philharmonic Ball always bring positive emotions and we were very happy," he said. maestro.

Popular waltzes, polkas and marches were just a part of the concert program of the Philharmonic Ball, where Katerina Mina (soprano) and Roko Radovan (tenor) joined the Philharmonic as vocal soloists, and there is also the Academic Choir Ivan Goran Kovačić.
"The idea was to present a diverse repertoire. I suggested performing not only orchestral works, but also collaboration with an excellent choir, the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir. This was our first collaboration and I am very satisfied and I already have some plans for the future. that the program was diverse and rich. When I saw the reaction of the audience, I knew it was a good choice, "he said.

The program also includes choral songs and arias from Verdi's and Bizet's operas such as "Aida", "The Power of Fate", "Carmen" and "Troubadour", polkas such as "Trich-gossip polka", "Annen polke" and "Im Krapfenwald'l polka ", and well-known compositions such as the waltz" On the beautiful blue Danube "or" Radetz March ".
